Wudang

The undisputed first house of internal cultivation — where softness overcomes hardness, and stillness overcomes motion.

NeutralRival: Veil Scar SectFist / Sword / Soft Weapon

Alongside Shaolin and Emei, Wudang is counted among the Three Great Orthodox Houses of the martial world. Its arts run famously deep — the founding patriarch’s Daoist insight and Taiji techniques are said to have no rival, earning Wudang the reputation of the first house of internal cultivation under heaven. Based in the Jingbei–Wudang Mountains region, its arts run on the Pure Yang elemental attribute.

Wudang is a righteous sect that won’t teach anyone whose reputation has fallen too low, and stands opposed to Veil Scar Sect. Politically, its members lean toward the Neutral stance.

Sect Philosophy

Wudang’s arts span fist, sword, and a whisk-based soft-weapon style — built on the principle that intent moves before the body, and qi arrives before force lands. It favors yielding over hardness, stillness over motion: pure Daoist theory made manifest. Its techniques run on Daoism aptitude, which can substitute for other lower breakthrough requirements — with soft-weapon techniques additionally requiring Poetry & Literature. Wudang members can be asked to tutor Poetry & Literature, Numerology, and Daoism.

Favor Interaction: Seven-Star Origin Alignment

Perform up to 7 rounds of Zhoutian (Heavenly Cycle) circulation on one internal-power technique you’ve already broken through — a way to accelerate cultivation of a single core technique using accumulated favor.

Regional Story: “Tortoise and Serpent, Entwined in Support”

“The male does not stand alone, nor the female dwell in solitude. Tortoise and serpent, the Dark Warrior entwined, lean upon each other — thus is yin and yang made manifest, thus are the two forever bound together.” Yin and yang giving rise to one another is the way of heaven and earth.

Yet lately, word has spread of a disheveled Daoist wandering Mount Wudang — one who, upon encountering anyone practicing Wudang’s reversed (heretical) techniques, delivers an unsolicited lecture: “When yang flourishes and yin withers, that is the Way…”

Signature Mechanics

Correct the Reversed

Unlock: Interact with “Little Black Snake,” the special character tied to “Tortoise and Serpent, Entwined in Support.”
Cost: 10 Stamina per use, plus Experience scaled to how much you’re rewriting.
Effect: Choose one technique manual you own and rewrite both its overall type and any number of its individual chapter contents. Higher-grade books allow more chapters to be rewritten, at proportionally higher Experience cost.

Shift the Palace (unlocked via sequel story)

During a technique breakthrough, spend Experience to swap the positions of any two breakthrough nodes (excluding the start and end points). Higher-grade techniques allow more swaps per breakthrough attempt, at proportionally higher cost.

Best for — players who want precise control over how their technique manuals are structured rather than accepting random rolls. Wudang is the closest thing in the game to a “reroll and reorder” toolkit for internal-power builds — ideal if you’ve ever wished you could fix a manual that came out almost-but-not-quite right.
