Sanguine Sect
Born from an age of chaos, when every villain the world had cast out found each other and built something worse.
HereticalRival: Hundred Flowers ValleyFist / Finger / Leg / Concealed Weapon
In the chaos following Xiangshu’s rise, the world’s most irredeemable villains gradually found one another and founded Sanguine Sect. Its dark arts corrupt human nature so thoroughly that even a bodhisattva couldn’t save a practitioner — naturally putting it at absolute odds with the righteous martial world. Based in the Jiangbei–Xuehou Valley region, its arts run on the Return to Origin elemental attribute.
Sanguine Sect is a heretical sect that won’t teach anyone whose reputation is too high, and stands opposed to Hundred Flowers Valley. Its members lean toward the Solipsistic stance.
Sect Philosophy
Its arts span fist, finger, leg, and concealed weapons — twisted and merciless, stopping at nothing. Some practitioners go so far as human blood sacrifice, walking the path of the Mara to achieve a form of undying, corrupted power. Its techniques are deliberately wicked in nature: study efficiency is +50% for characters with a Rebellious or Solipsistic worldview, and −50% for those who are Upright/Just or Benevolent (this modifier does not apply to a manual’s overall framework). Techniques run on Poison and Miscellaneous Knowledge aptitude. Sanguine Sect members can be asked to tutor Connoisseurship, Medicine, Poison, Buddhism, and Miscellaneous Knowledge.

Regional Story: “The Blood Tomb’s Remnant Beauty”
“The cold fox howls over the green grave; ghost-fire burns the white poplars.” Rumors say a bleak, unnatural wind stirs at Sanguine Sect’s grounds — that nine restless spirits from the underworld wander there still. Word has spread through Yangzhou, and few can hear it without a chill running down their spine.
Matters of ghosts and spirits are hazy and uncertain at the best of times — but how can anyone know the truth without seeing it for themselves?

Signature Mechanic: Ji Xi
Completing “The Blood Tomb’s Remnant Beauty” causes a special character, Ji Xi, to appear on the map. If her affection toward you reaches maximum, she can be recruited to follow you — hunting down heretics and vagrant swordsmen near you, and restoring your health when needed.
Ji Xi’s blood-drinking cycle
Ji Xi ages through 3 stages: Youth, Adolescence, Adulthood. Periodically, she kills a random character and drinks their blood — the younger her current stage, the more frequently this happens. Every 7 kills advances her to the next age stage.
When not following you, she wanders the world killing at random. When following you, her targets are characters near you. She will never kill your friends, family, or Taiwu Village residents, and prioritizes your enemies.
Following you
Requirement: Her affection must be at maximum, and you must be the Taiwu she first met (or your reincarnation).
While following: She automatically clears heretics and vagrant swordsmen from tiles you pass through.
Healing: On month change, if your health is below 33% of max, Ji Xi can heal you at the cost of reverting to a younger age stage — Adolescent Ji Xi restores 50% health, Adult Ji Xi restores 100%.
Sequel unlock: Qi-Drawing Seal
Completing the sequel story changes Ji Xi’s killing behavior — she now drains Qi from others instead of blood, and unlocks the “Qi-Drawing Seal” feature, letting her transfer internal power between herself and you.
- Designate yourself or any adult character you know as her Qi-draining target (or leave it unset, and she’ll target a random nearby person — never your friends/family/villagers, preferring enemies).
- Every 14 Qi points she absorbs advances her age stage; older stages drain more Qi per month.
- Absorbed Qi converts into her own reserves (capped at 50 per type).
- You can transfer her Qi to yourself as Zhoutian Qi, or vice versa; you can also have her transfer a specific Five-Elements type of internal power from a known character to you (older Ji Xi transfers more efficiently); or have her heal you on demand, same effect as her automatic healing.
- Whenever Ji Xi eliminates a heretic, you gain regional favor accordingly.
